Terms of Service
Last updated: September 7, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Bisplit, a shared-expense and group-settlement application. By creating an account or using Bisplit, you agree to them.
1. The service
Bisplit lets people who share expenses โ roommates, trips, households โ track who paid for what, split costs and settle up. Groups, expenses, payments and settlement requests you create are visible to the other members of the same group.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Bisplit.
3. Accounts
- You may sign in with an email address and password, a Google account, an Apple account, or continue as a guest.
- A guest session can be upgraded to a permanent sign-in method at any time while using the app. Until you do, losing the device or session may mean losing access to your groups.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.
4. Financial data is informational only
Balances, debts and settlement records in Bisplit exist to help group members keep track and coordinate. Bisplit does not move money between users, is not a payment processor or money transmitter, and does not hold funds. Recording a payment in the app is a note that a payment happened elsewhere; it is not the payment itself. We do not guarantee that another member will pay what the app shows they owe, and disputes about money are between the members involved.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not use Bisplit to store or transmit unlawful content.
- Do not attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
- Do not abuse shared infrastructure, including automated scraping, excessive API calls, or circumventing rate limits and quotas.
- Do not upload receipt images containing content you do not have the right to share.
6. AI features
Bisplit offers two optional AI-assisted features: receipt scanning, which reads a receipt image and suggests expense fields, and spending insights, which summarizes your aggregated spending. Both are produced by automated models and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Treat their output as a suggestion to review, not as a record of fact or as financial advice, and check the underlying numbers before relying on them. You can report AI output that is wrong or inappropriate from inside the app.
7. Content you upload
You keep ownership of the content you upload, including receipt images. You grant us the permission needed to store and process that content in order to provide the service, such as extracting text from a receipt so it can fill in an expense.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings or via bisplit.app/account/delete. Expenses and payments you contributed remain visible to the remaining members of that group as part of its shared financial history. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
9. Disclaimer and liability
Bisplit is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including disputes between group members about money owed.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product changes. Continued use of Bisplit after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
